The 615Q0170015 Power Take-Off Gear is a critical drivetrain component within the WEICHAI WD615 and WP10 heavy-duty diesel engine power output system. Installed inside the engine's front gear train or timing gear housing, this precision-engineered gear serves as the mechanical interface that extracts rotational power from the engine's gear drive mechanism and transfers it to the Power Take-Off (PTO) unit. The PTO unit, in turn, drives externally mounted auxiliary equipment — including hydraulic pumps, water pumps, air compressors, winches, and other application-specific machinery. In vocational trucks such as concrete mixers, dump trucks, crane carriers, and firefighting vehicles, the reliability of the PTO gear directly determines the functionality of the entire auxiliary system.The PTO gear operates as a torque transfer node positioned between the engine's primary geartrain and the externally mounted PTO assembly. When the engine is running, the crankshaft-driven timing gears continuously rotate the PTO gear, which meshes with the PTO unit's input gear. When the operator engages the PTO — typically via a pneumatic or mechanical clutch mechanism in the cab — the rotating PTO gear drives the PTO output shaft, channeling engine horsepower to auxiliary equipment. This design enables a single engine to simultaneously propel the vehicle and operate specialized machinery, eliminating the need for a separate auxiliary power unit and improving overall vehicle efficiency.
